    Question Fog Lights

One of my fogs is always full of condensation, it doesn't appear to be cracked anywhere so could a seal of gone and be a simple repair or would I have to buy a new fog?

i bet it is the passenger side

your top up tank for your windscreen washers is right behind the passenger fog light and when you fill it up and you spill water behind it causes the fog light to mist up,there are quite a few on here it has happened to including me

A quick fix is to remove the circular access cover from beneath the light and let the water out. Leave it off for a few days while it dries out, I drilled a tiny hole in the centre of the access cover before refitting it. Now any water drips straight out and it hasn't misted up since

Also, there is a new "snorkel" mod which can be fitted too so you have a couple of options for fixing it.

Yeah it is the passenger side

Will it still be the same cause though as it does dry out later in the day?

Yeah it will be the same problem, it will be drying out because you only have a small amount of water in there. The VX test is 20mins with the fog lights on, if it doesn't clear in that time they may change it under warranty. Although now this snorkel mod is out they probably just fit that.

The snorkel is mentioned in this post:

    http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread...hlight=snorkel

The round cap under the light just twists off, when I took mine off about 1/2 a pint of water fell out lol

You could leave the cap off but I found it annoying that if you use the lights you have a dot of light on the road, under the light fitting !

or you could do what i have done....

you know those tiny packets of silica gel you get with new trainers or in electrical goods... there's one of those in all my lights.... no condensation in my foglights as the silica gel absorbs the moisture..

Thanks simac, will try it tonight.

Can you fit the gels easy enough without taking the fog light off?
