For UK customers the current info is on page 8 of the Accessories Price List: http://www.vmproductforum.co.uk/serv...-file-ACCS.pdf
Still only lists phones for which a cradle is available and not compatible phones and also only has 1 currently available phone listed (from my checks on the O2 web site). Bottom line appears to be ask the dealer to show you the kit working with your phone before you order.
Just a quick update for anyone else having problems with phones not working properly withthe VX Bluetooth kit...
My service provider O2 bit the bullet and have provided me with a direct swap replacement for the N95. They have supplied me with a Nokia 6500 Slide which has Bluetooth 2.0 installed and this is communicating fine with the VX Bluetooth kit in as much as the phone book is partly ported (only 1 number per entry showing instead of all numbers) and my calls list is also porting over without difficulty. Although it is annoying having only one number per name showing at least I can get at everyone and am currently working out what the sequence is so that I can move the main contact number for key ppl to the right position so that it shows up on the car kit for use.
My dealer has also confirmed that they would fund a phone replacement (but note - this was the dealer and not VX).
Just had a response from the VX Accessories Web Shop team:
"Hello
Unfortunately we do not sell the bluetooth phone cradles on our site anymore due to complaints about the lack of cradles for modern phones."
Politely suggested to them that they should be selling cradles for more up to date phones then!
With the car due to be discontinued in a couple of months, that seems unlikely.
The cradles fit the BT kit that is available in ALL VX/GM cars and vans - not just the Veccy and Sig - so why withdraw the cradles?
TBH i dont see the point of the cradle. if all functions are habndle by bluetooth it's just an expensive and ugly charger.
Yes, though i've never had a problem using a phone in the car without one (either as passenger or via hands free) and i live in an awful area for mobile signals - only get one in the front bay window and in the attic!
Wow - your Vectra has a front bay window AND an attic? Impressed...
Seriously - the unit has to go somewhere and by building it so that the cradle is directly on top of the gismo the risk of interference is reduced. Also the kit CAN (according to the manual) provide a fully wired connection meaning that BT is not required. However, as always, VX note that this is not available on all phones and then fail to tell you which of the several out of date supported models it would be of benefit with. So only real advantage is external aerial (useful if you do not have an attic on your car) and as you note - an expensive charger.
