Vehicle : SAAB 93 Estate, Vectra C Estate

    Trim : LINEAR SE, Elite

    Engine : Z19DTH, Z22YH

    Year : 08,08

Default Tech 2 for towing electrics

I've just fitted a Bosal tow bar and VX electrics (12N and 12S) to my full canbus estate. But none of the electrics are working apart from the 12V supply to the charge relay, so I assume they need to be enabled by Tech 2 as suggested in the instructions and reading posts on here.

    Phoned four local VX dealers:

    1. 0.8h labour £62.50
    2. 1h labour £96.35
    3. Gave up waiting on hold, which is unfortunate as they are the most local
    4. 0.5h labour £36.00

Does any of these seem reasonable?

Seens a lot of money just to reprogramme the car. I have booked the last one for next Monday as they are the cheapest.

Thanks, already read through it and a few others on here. Disconnected the battery as the leaflet says, fitted the electrics, reconnected the battery, nothing working (as above), tried disconnecting the battery for about 30mins same, so it looks as if my car is one of those which does needs Tech 2'ing.

Well the first two are completely outrageous prices - both on cost and the amount of time they are implying it will take. The fourth is getting more reasonable - given that the actual job takes about 10 minutes!

to do what? enable the towing electrics?..

Thats tech2 or vauxcom only really... 'most' cars auto detect the prescence of the module.. it seems this one needs a little help..

if it's a wiring 'how-2' then all the instructions ( and the tech2 menu instructions) come with the genuine VX wiring kits..
