being rather vague, but am basically trying to get 'help' from him due to my medical aftercare with the military which has been somewhat lacking and basically on the nhs waiting list now for an op after i recieved an injury whils serving in iraq last year....

I once wrote a letter to mine asking for advice on a neighbour's conifers inteferring with my enjoyment to property.

Got a response within a few weeks. Gave me advice on what procedures I can adopt etc.

You can get the address for your local MP from the internet.

I had problems with the title deeds on a premises I leased from the local council, a restaurant . When I went to sell it I didn`t have a proper title, making it worthless ... Anyhow I contacted my local MP who is Tavish Scott , He was absolutely useless ... Didn`t want to get involved ... hopefully not the norm but I felt very let down by him ..

It is a disgrace the way service men are treated , doing your bit and get treated like 2nd class citizens !!

Can't help you out with the MP, but found out a few days ago my neighbour was shot in the leg in Iraq and he's just been at home for over a year and nothing else. Surprised they haven't just MD'd him as thats the usual attitude to anyone who is badly injured

I hope something gets done soon mate, but I can see the bosses getting Pd off if you went to an MP for help as they think they can do everything, but obviously not as you know

Dwabo you know what the mil is like, everyone talks the talk but dont do the walk !! That is unless you get their attention by going to someone that can make a direct difference, THEN the support starts because they all dont want to take the flak. I had this once over an offer of promotion v course, if I passed the course I would be on more money (double promotion) if I failed 2 years down the drain and more importantly 2 years pensionable engagement wasted as I would go back in at Level 1 with the subsequent loss in seniority. A letter of Grievance direct to the AOC soon got the ball rolling,(letter MUST be replied to) sure enough PMA/OC PSF etc all stared doing there F****** jobs. Sure enough, got letter in print after investigtion by (WO AOC) ensuring if I had to go back a rank then I would indeed maintain pension rights and regain my seniority.

Basically, get writing, its your health demand action. The worst they can do is shout at you !

have contacted anyone and everyone for help, from SSAFA the British Legion to my MP now.. the legion advised me there was a case of medical negligence which i have taken up with them through a soliciter, which is at the very early stages..and recieved a very pitiful amount from the armed forces compensation scheme..which i have rejected and are awaiting their decision on a reconsidderation.. but what I would be happy with, is the right treatment that I am entitled to...not being funny, but why should injured personnel, injured/maimed on operations fighting a war that they dont always want to fight, have to be put onto the nhs and expected to wait like this because the military let them down..
