That could be absolutely anything. There is no way of saying it's definately this or it's definately that from descriptions of faults. The only way to see what's going on is tech 2 (or other compatible code reader)

How do you arrive at that diagnosis then? Yea could well be one of those items (we all know the trouble these two items cause on Vecs), could also be a turbo fault, could be something rattling in the engine which the knock sensor is picking up and retarding the ignition or even a faulty knock sensor or even loose(torque setting is critical for a knock sensor), could be a faulty MAF sensor, could be a faulty throttle pedal position sensor (Either one), could be a faulty temp sensor etc etc etc. lol. Anyway, you may well be right in your diagnosis , lets see what his tech 2 throws up.

EDIT: PMSL just seen your edit

Sometimes YOU jump to quickly.... I mearly listed them as the two most common faults that would cause those symptoms. Always a good place to suggest to a (normally) useless dealer. However, next time I won't bother trying to help. Everything on here is peoples opinion, I added my edit to avoid any confusion. Seems I was a little too slow

well got it back that night to find it exactly the same so told the manager to come with me in it, showed him an he sed ohh yer it should be a lot quicker. let me have a go so he did, went round the block in 1st gear it clears the exhaust, i was like get ur foot off the accelerator its not the exhaust and it doesn't need cleaning out by redlining it constatly. went back tech 2 came up with same problem, boost pressure valve which they had supposedly cleaned out, so we were looking under the bonnet wen he spotted vacuum pipe that had previously fell of and i lost all turbo had rotted underneath and had a hole in it therefore no turbo, he got a new piece of pipe put it on and that was it all sorted. so i rushed home to get the tuning box back on it

so its all better now jus need the simota back on it tommorow
