    Default Tyre size programming

I'm considering changing the standard 215x50x17 tyres and alloys on my Signum Elite, once the tyres reach the end of their life (~4-5k to go).

I'm intending to go for a set of 225x45x18 possibly the Vx Signum 07 elite optional ones, possibly something different, as this sticks to the original Vx optional sizing.

I remember reading on the forum some time ago but can't find it on the search, some people had the tyre/wheel sizes corrected in the ECM via tech2.

Is a there a Tech2 setting option for swapping between the 17 and 18 inch alloys where you are sticking to the original Vx new car optional sizes?

Also looking at the signum brouchures, the 19 inch Vx alloys were not available on the 2007 3.0cdti I assume due to the weight but they used to be available on pre-facelift cars. Has anybody fitted these or had issues?

I had mine programmed in via tech2 last year when the car was serviced. I went from the standard SRi facelift 17" alloy's to the 18" VXR snowflake.

I had mine tech 2'd when i went from 17" to 19" snowflakes. Group three wheel range i was told by the guy. 18" 19" and 20" wheels that is.
    hope this helps you out.
Your right about the 19" wheels not being available on the 3.0 due to the weight.
If you get 91 rated tyre's you will be OK as these will handle the weight.
I talked to Mark the cabby about this in Germany as he has 19" GT Stars on his 3.0 signum.

    Thanks guys.

In that case will get the tech2 done when the car is serviced and setup for 18s.

18s seem the best compromise between style and ride reading other posts. Also a little weary of the 19s as my Signum also has the auto gear box which makes it even heavier.

I'm think of getting the 9/18 spoke V spreading Vx standard Signum alloys as these were optional on the elite and should count as factory standard for insurance purposes. They are also far less common than the vectra estate or Signum exclusive/design ones. Any thoughts?

Are these the wheels you thinking of ?
I like these a lot. They will give you a better ride etc.
I would still inform the insurance you have them just to be on the safe side.
Tyre's will be cheaper than the 19" one's as well.

Yep those are the ones Think I'm fairly set on them.

Yours still look better than 18s though (one of the few downsides of V6).

Agree need to tell insurance company once fitted but they seem far happier with factory standard parts than 3rd party after market ones as your sticking closer to the standard car spec.

Maverick had 19" snowflakes on his 3.0V6 Siggy and towed a caravan with them on, there are no issues if you want them just use the XL tyres - as I'm sure you do anyway.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Only issue is the emissions and that is why they are not available on the V6 cdti from factory
