    Default The new improved Cabby...

Well it's all Mandy's fault really.

I HAVE GIVEN UP THE FAGS!!!

As of 00:00 last night and to be honest I'm felling OK's.

I though i would be going mad by now but i really am OK about the whole thing.

OK only 19 hours in but i thought i would be really wanting a fag by now.

Mandy has been smoke free since Thursday and i thought if she can do it so can i.

It's so funny i have already found my crutch - Bottled water!!!

Mandy's doing the gum thing and keeps telling me her jaw aches,
And i say not for the right reason and not enough for you to keep ya mouth shut.
Which is really going down well on a 3 day fag starved mad arse wife.

I need any help with staying of the fags please

    Cabby

Well done m8!!! - and great that the two of you are doing it together. I'm sure it makes it that bit easier rather than one trying to quit while the other is puffing away.

I've got no tips whatsover to give m8 as I've never smoked, but I'm sure there'll be some along in a moment who can - and I sincerely hope that you both manage it. You'll notice a big health difference - not to mention a whole lot of extra £££££ in your pocket for modding!

Well done Cabby, it's well worth it in the long run.

I gave up 2 years ago and I was a 40-60 a day man. Feel much better and I am definately richer!

I used the patches and an inhaler, both of which really helped.

I also kept a packet in the glovebox as a sort of security measure (probably sounds daft to anyone who hasn't smoked but I used to get anxious if I didn't have any fags on me!) and remember to keep your guard up.

Good luck, you've both made the hardest step already.

Well done both of you!!!! The best thing you can do is put away the money you are saving - you'll soon have enough for a mega treat!!!

Drinky has said he is giving up as soon as he has smoked his way through the 3 years worth of fags/tobacco he brought back fron the Irmy trip..................

I gave up smoking nearly 4 years ago. I did it through my doctors. When I breathed into the CO2 meter and saw the levels it helped, and the nurse there gave me her telephone number, and when I wanted a fag I would phone her up and she'd talk me out of it. I also got nicorette patches on prescription.

Something else that helped was my work colleagues. When they heard that I was trying to give up, when I came back from having a crafty one, they all told me that I stank (of cigarettes). That negative thought process and the support of the NHS really did the trick. Unfortunately just recently, because of some mega stress, I've taken to having the occassional cigar. Need to pack that in before I'm back to square one.

I really wish you the best of luck. At least you've got each other as your support structure.

If you're finding it difficult put a mouse trap on your fag packet.

well done m8 just for attempting the first few days are the hardest and its all down to will power.
i used wine gums / werthers originals as my lil helper and some thing to keep your fingers busy.
try to avoid booze and things u did when smoking and tell all your freinds that smoke and not to offer u cigs.
and try excersize because u will put weight on.
