    Default handbrake failure!!!

    hi,

i parked my car outside my house on a hill not too steep. put the handbrake on and went inside. got a knock on the door 20mins later saying my car has rolled into another car!! went out and drove the car forward i noticed the handbrake was lower than what i set it at. But about a week a go i got new rear brake pads fitted and they have been fine but could the garage have done something and that could have caused this or is it the faulty handbrake recall? also there is a small dent in my bumper!

    thanks
    iain

    Thumbs up

Got mine done without the recall letter at Kerr & Smith (Cumnock), just went in and hey booked it in immediately, not bad result as they washed the car as well !

Oooh, sounds like the recall symptons, maybe the new brakes put too much pressure on the handbrake spring?

I got a letter and little sticker, so would it be worth just phoning my VX dealer then, and saying it hasnt been done yet? My cars a 2003 (53).

yeah i got no letter, or phone call or text, i just rang there customer service number, and asked if my had been recalled or if the work had already been done, they confirmed no, rang local dealer and booked it in, within the week, also whilst onto customer services, i confirmed whether any previouse recalls had been done.
