    Default cat blowing fault

    Help is needed if posible.
I had the AA come out couple of days ago as car wouldn't start.
    (oxygen sensor).
Once replaced thought great off I went to work. When I started it in the evening to go home the car sounded like t was farting at me( blowing from the exhaust inside the engine somewhere.
The AA man undid the three bolts attaching the Cat to the turbo to check inside whilst he was doing my oxygen sensor as he saw some sh*t around the edges, but he didn't undo the bolts underneath, he didn't move it that far only to the edge of the bolts with a screw driver.
I have tried tighting them up but they are tight. Soon as it gets warm the blowing goes away comes back cold.
Had a look this morning when started and white smoke coming from around the flange to the turbo charger / cat bolts on.
Any ideas how to seal ths as their is no gasket don't want to use a sealing agent as could damage the cat and turbo.
    Help[ all out of ideas.

Could you not make a gasket? otherwise take the joint apart and carefully give it a really good clean.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Off this subject Ricky, but did you ever find out the problem with the backfiring? Was it to do with the exhaust in the end or other problems that caused it?

it was vauxhall mark shock horror, fixed the fault eventually only bcause the turbo popped. The fault was the dc switching solonoid that controls the actuator, basically it wasn't working and making the turbo not boost correctly.
Also when vx put my sparkplugs in they didn't even read the box were it says "plug gap to be et for specific model" they didn't bother and just chucked them in so instead of being at 1mm they were all different creating misfires, the list of f**k ups from them was unreal, once I started fixing it myself I haven't had any problems with it for nearly a year, except for the cat & oxygen sensor which is now fixed, as the aa didn't seat it properly
are you having problems with yours backfiring?
