Wink Got a custom paint job done last week!

Had a custom paint job done last week. Bit of a DIY job actually.

This custom paint job involved driving down the A1/A1M at a fair rate of knots, and since I was going via Ipswich it also included a blast down the A14 - including a play with a Peugeot 206CC 2.0 16v, resulting in some license losing speeds!! (I know, I know - hardly a fair match but it livened up the journey a little!! )

Oh, and for maximum effect, it has to be late evening on a warm summers day, to ensure a plentiful supply of the said custom paint!!!.........

Man, they took ages to remove. They were stuck solid. Bl**dy things!! LOL

    Like the old joke goes:

    "Your car's been stolen!"
"What! What about my insect collection?"
"Where was it, in the boot?"
    "No, on the front bumper........"

While driving in Florida a few years ago, I remember driving through a huge cloud of bugs of some sort. Big beasties they were, and made a horrible splatting noise when they hit the windscreen!
Good job the car was red, or may have been even more disgusting!

My car was exactly the same, I clocked up just over 900 miles this week Then a journey down the A14/M6/M42 thismorning in a thunderstorm cleaned them all off(well most anyway).
Just the rest of the car looks filthy now
Gutted because I spent 2 hrs on Sunday cleaning it!

On a slightly different tac. When I was a copper (pause for chorus of sighs and expletives).......

    ....OK

We got a call for a 'concern for occupant' (basically, someone rings in and says they haven't seen the person for ages, they are elderly, they haven't gone anywhere, etc etc). We went to the address, knocked on the door, blah blah blah. No answer. I approached the front room bay window and found it to be painted black from the inside. In a vain attempt to peer inside I cupped my hands around the sides of my face and put my nose to the window. I instantly reeled back, the 'black paint' was FLIES. Needless to say, an entry was forced and you don't wanna know the rest. I thought I had a strong stomach, NOPE.

The best way to remove fly's.......................

AutoGlym Engine cleaner, simply spray it over the flys and they simply wipe off.

With the miles I do it is a god send!!!
