    Default Spoiler Help..

my ebay spoiler turned up..with a few 'hidden' probs... £33 bargain..but with a problem or 2...

need any advice on how 2 repair the spoiler base unit..just got a silly quote from a bodyshop for repair and painting..nearly the price of a new spoiler!!..

anyway..as you can see from the pics..the base unit is slightly split and needs to be filled and re drilled I guess and new adaptors fitted into it..

cant find a local bodyshop that is able to do it..or one cheap enough to repair it.. the seller has offered me a full refund..but to me it doesnt look too bad a repair and once done should be fine...can anyone reccomend me someone or somewhere able to repair it..would be willing to send it via courier..if it can be done cheap enough to repair and spray... so if u are able to do it for me..or know someone in the business, please give me a shout...

few pics to see the repair needed..

the other base unit and centre section are both fine... then it just needs a sand and respray...

    Cheap way?
Use NO MORE NAILS! If you not planning in taking it off again that will completely sort it! And cheap too! Put in where needed smooth round with a damp finger, leaqve to set and touch up,sounds unproffesional, but will work a treat and cost you a fiver! My bathroom mirror is stuck up on my wall laminate with the stuff and its flippin indestructible!

Here what your saying, and there is nothing stopping you from screwing it on. Bond the cracks with it first, use some tape pulled around tight underneath where you've applied the glue,to close the cracks, this should give the thread back for the screws to fix on to,then when you apply, put the glue into the holes, and screw it on,if you a little concerned about water ingress, use a little all purpose silcon sealer just around the inside edge before you place on.
Don't go throwing good money after bad, that solution will sort it,and for cheap!.
Oh and dont for get to rub down and touch up the outside edges before you apply to the main body of the car.

Thats the beauty of this forum mate, find someone near you too help. It's a simple job...really it is,and once you've got it on you'll be glad you did.
If you have to spray it another colour primer and paint for a can or two each is still cheap compared with what you've been quoted.Go on man! Learn something new today! You'll be glad you did
