    Default Supermarket Sweep!

Any help or advice would be appreciated; I have a Vectra 2.0Dti and it has been running well since the turbo boost was sorted 3 months ago. Normally use BP Ultimate but had to fill up with anything I could get - which was Sainsbury's City Diesel. Immediately noticed the car was more sluggish then after about an hour the spanner light came on. It cleared after restarting but came on several times later - normally when accelerating uphill. I know it sounds crazy but has anyone heard of this city diesel stuff causing problems.
    Thanks.

All I can say is that when I had a Vectra B 2.0 DTI it hated the stuff, the economy was poor and it ran like a bag of nails. Eventually the engine light came on, limp mode etc and the dealer did something to the diesel pump. IIRC they said it was sludged up and needed cleaning but I don't know if the two things are related.

Good luck in sorting it !

Thanks to Simac, Drinky & Gsi3.2 for your replies. I have ran as much of the fuel off as possible and refilled with BP's Ultra stuff and there is a slight improvement.
Does anyone know whether dirty fuel could invoke the dreaded spanner light? It comes on if I give it some welly and go past about 3000 revs and the car feels generally choked, particularly at low revs or when going pulling uphill. It's under warranty and booked into the main stealers for Wednesday - but they will charge me £80 to plug it in even if it is just a fuel filter.

Just providing feedback that might help others. Problem identified as split in vac pipe leading to turbo boost. The fuel must have been a coincidence - (You know when you get something in your head - I would have lost a lot of money at Ladbrokes!)
The annoying thing is that one of the adjacent pipes was replaced 2 months ago, wouldn't you think they would check all the pipes then!
Anyway, thanks to all that replied.
