    Default Auto locking.

Folks, I have just enabled the auto locking feature on the SRi; when the car sets off, all doors lock as normal but when I stop and turn off the engine, only the driver's door unlocks. This means that when ever the missus wants to get out i have to use the manual central locking button. Is this just the way I did it or does every car with auto locking enabled so this?

mine used to open all my doors - that was on my pre-facelift sri, now on my facelift it only opens drivers side too, maybe its another cool feature they have taken off the facelift !

When you open the car, does one press of the key fob open only the drivers door?? or all the doors.

My facelift, all doors lock on drive off, all doors open when key removed. Key fob opens all doors when pressed.

I'm pretty sure it is all settable - just adjust in line with what it says in the manual.

All the doors open on my 57 plate Sri and did the same on my 06 Exclusiv. It's just the way you choose to set it up.

you will need to change the setting on how the car unlocks from the key.

If you press the button once and all doors open, then when you turn your engine off all the doors will unlock.

If you have to press the unlock button twice to unlock all the doors on your car then this will be repeated on the opening of the auto lock function. i thinks it's one or the other people.

As i have kids i just chose to have all doors open when i unlock the car as it's easier, also works great with the autolock function.

Ah, I think I understand. So if i set the key to unlock all doors on the first press then the auto (un)lock will open all doors when I turn the engine off.
Super, thanks guys, im off for a play.

edit: steve-wolves, First look in the key/locking section of your owner's manual, it describes how to turn off the one press = drivers, two press = all doors unlocking feature of your key. if the one press = drivers feature is on then only the drivers door will auto unlock when you turn off the engine. If the one press = all doors is enabled then all doors will auto open when you turn off the engine.

You sit in the car with the key in your hand. at the same time press and hold the door lock button on BOTH the key and the drivers door (next to the window/mirror control). After a few seconds you will hear a double beep from the car. The feature os now set up and the car will auto lock when you pull away and reach about 8(ish) mph. The car will unlock when you turn off the engine. Its in the key/locking section of your owner's manual.
