Default Astra & Vectra 1.9 CDTi

As we all know, the Vectra 1.9 CDTi 120 is the 8v unit and the 150bhp version is the 16v.

So in effect the Vectra lose's out because........

Both the 120bhp and 150bhp 1.9 CDTi Astra MK5's are both 150bhp 16v engines with the 120 being restricted by mapping.

I have heared a rumour that the Vectra will be going this way. I'll keep you posted.

Basic Astra SRi CDTi 120 (£17375)
Basic Astra SRi CDTi 150 (£17875)

So about the same as a re-map!!! But it is the fact that you have a 150 and not a modded 120.

The 8v engine isn't listed on the Vaux site, only the 120 16V version, even for the Vectra and Signum.

I just clicked on the 'our new diesels' link on there. If you do the same, make sure the volume on your speakers is up high as the sound is very quiet.

The 2006 Vectra still at the moment has the 8v 120. But I would not be suprised if it is replaced by the 16v version.

The 100BHP 1.9 CDTi 8v is also due out in due course.
