Default sun visor and interior light

    Hi guys,

I want to replace the standard one bulb interior light and the sun visors in my 2005 Vectra C for the ones with reading lights and sunglasses case and visors with lights.
    Anyone experience with this ?
Is there already wiring in place for that or will it be much more trouble ?
    Thanks for the help.

If you haven't got the loom for the illuminating sun visor's then just wire them to the ciggy lighter, sunglass holder is just straight swap.........

Thanks for the help guys ! Replaced the interior light thingie with the one with reading lights and sunglasses holder. With sweaty handpalms I must admit but within 20 minutes the old one was removed and the new one fitted. Indeed a straight swap although you needed an extra part to fit against the roof. Needed for fitting and securing the sunglasses holder with 2 screws.

Without the extra part the sunglasses holder just fell out. In my case it didn't click in it had to be fastened with two screws. Maybe the part evolved over the years ? Got mine this week new straight from the Opel dealer. Stupid, should had made pictures

Mine's fell out a couple of times now as well. Did you have the black plastic backing in your roof?

Yes, you slide it in and has pins on the roofside. When you take a look at your roof you'll see a small hole in the front and in the back. The one in the back is about 20 cm's under your lining. The plastic backing has two pins which fit in the holes in your roof. Those prevent the backing to slide to the left or right. In the backing ar three holes where the standard screws in the front come through.

I felt a bit guilty not taking any pictures of my "project" so I've been searching the Internet and guess what I found : a picture of the thing !

On the picture you look at the top of the backing.
I've indicated with the two arrows the two plastic parts where you attach your sunglasses holder with two screws (not to long otherwise you'll damage your roof !). Opel partnumber : 24446892 (don't know if Vauxhall uses the same numbers) and it's called : reinforcement. Hope this helps.
