for me, most new windows O/S's should just be upgrades to the previous O/S.. is Vista THAT much different to XP etc.. Vista was supposed to have major changes but it looks pretty much the same as XP to me.. sure you've got some extra features, but do they warrant it being a new O/S???

What is it with the anti Vista brigade, I've had it almost since launch and I think it's a good system myself.

Depends what software you use, alot of specialist software, that doesn't have a multitude of upgrades, such as music production software runs great for xp not so good for vista, there's lots of pheriphals too that don't work too well on vista, quite simply unless your introducing it along with a whole new compatible set up it aint the plug and play pleasure XP has been and still is,XP was known for it's coming of age when Service Pack 2 arrived. Microsoft look to have recognised it's ongoing popularity regardled of Vistas arrival by releasing SP3!
A service pack upgrade to an apparently superseeded O/S is very unusual with MS if not a first?
The claim to speed things up by around 10% is also true, XP is running even smoother for me now.
I suggest you all get it and please pass the word throughout the forum,as i'm suprised at how many people don't know it's even been released.

I wasn't really aiming at you Loft, it's just the endless pages of Vista = bad threads across the forums, the system works tbh, it's achillies heel is the additional software that's needed, but hey a man can't use Nero 4 for the rest of his life can he
