Default Steering Vibration @ around 70mph?

    Hi All

I have noticed a vibration through my steering at about 70mph, I suspect this could be a wheel balancing problem. Any thought please??

    Mark

I suspect you're right about wheel balancing.

I think it is the most likely cause to be honest.

Has anyone got an idea of how much places charge for this service?

Up north about £5 a wheel. I had the same as you and it was only necessary to balance one wheel which I remember catching on a kerb ( on a brick was jutting out from the rest). So it may be as simple as that.

Some cheap tyres go out of balance at speed too - I had a pair of "Kingstar" tyres (fitted by the dealer). Could never get them balanced, ended up getting them pulled off (they were also like driving on glass in the wet and had sidewalls made out of polythene bags).

Nipped into National Tyres after work lastnight and got them to balance the front wheels. Cost £13.00 but has made the world of difference.

99% better now so I'm happy

    Thanks for your thought guys
