confused Help please, before I make a big mistake!

I am going to give me car an oil change as the garage I bought it from probably used the cheapest oil in the universe ( 10/40 ), but before I do I need some confirmation.
I asked a guy in work if his boy could get me some vx parts as he works for a garage.
I asked for a set of plugs ( yep - 93176801 ? ), an oil filter ( yep 93185674 ?), and a sump plug washer...............what he sent was a small rubber "O" ring????????????????????? what the ????, every sump plug washer I have ever seen has been a copper crush washer, whats up with that?
Also are the plugs & filter the right part numbers for my 06 1.8 vvt? as I am begining to doubt this fella........
oh and vx want 48 quid for 5/30 5 litres , is that an average stealers price?
    help a guy out please?

Not sure about the part numbers, but the 2.2 uses a flat rubber O ring on the sump plug as well.

£48 looks like the full retail price, think http://www.autovaux.co.uk/ might be cheaper.

    Yep, £16.95 from Autovaux.

Call me suspicious , but is that the same stuff? I mean 48 quid to 17 is a hell of a difference?
And that "O" ring looks as though it would be better off used for plumbing!

You can appreciate my concern, every washer I changed before now has been copper, which makes sense as it can handle the heat , and can be compressed slightly for a good leak proof seal, but rubber?????? cost cutting?
Any idea if the part numbers are correct? or where I can check?
Any ideas for a how 2 change the plugs, probably easy, but bear in mind, last time I did a set, they were in front of the engine, just pulled off the ht leads and bingo, now I have technology to fight with its plastic shield and metal bar!

    Thumbs up

Peter don't look for something that is not there. A lot of guys on this forum have used Autovox without complaints. Take it while it is going.
