    Default electric rear windows

    Hi All

as i presume my rear doors are not ready for electric rear windows (not checked, but if i look at the rest of the car... (cant get into the clip to get the "winder" off)

i presume that the wires is NOT in the loom to the rear doors.. how dificult would it then be to make the eletric windows? what then needs to be changed? (and would that be expencive..)

(know that i need door loom, swich, window motor and tech2 to work, but think that its not prepared at all).

Leeds Vectra is the man to ask, he's done it before and helped a few others to do it also, if yours is a pre facelift I think the wires will be there already.

iirc the door card comes off by pushing the card back slightly around the winder and you can then push the retainer clip off *it does ping so be prepared to go look for it afterwards* then prise out the red tab on the pull button *get some Irmy chrome ones to replace* look for screws in the bottom of the card and under the armrest portion and pull the card off, wires are in the sensor plug, this is the issue, you need to have the plug with power pins in it *there are thread examples and pictures of this in older threads* then you'll need to change the regulators these need to be pot riveted on inside the door, they might need tech 2 to make them operate once fitted and a nice touch is to rob the centre console blanking plugs to fill the hole in the door card where the winder used to come through. hth.

With the window winders push the door card slightly away from them and slide a rag down from the end the length of it so it looks like your yank the thing off. Make sure the rag is physically between the winder and door card and pull the rag gently to one side. The rag will catch one end of the spring clip and bring it up far enough so you can remove it.
