confused NCDC Sat Nav - messed up

    Hi guy,

I've got the NCDC2013 Sat Nav player built into the car, and recently, it's been acting up...

It seems to have crashed when I was going to IKEA on day a couple of weeks back, and now wherever I am, it thinks I'm in Ashton-Under-Lyne...

I put in a destination, and because it thinks I'm in a different place, it doesn't show any road directions, just an arrow saying "the destination is in the indicated direction". And when I press INFO which tell you your current location, it says Aston-Under-Lyne when I'm actually about 40 miles away...

I've tried loading an old map disc (2004) to try and reset the system, but that didn't work, so I put my current disc back on (2007). All that did was update the system to use those maps.

No matter what I try, it always thinks i'm about 40 miles away from where I actually am.

I've tried taking the stereo out, and leaving it a few hours.
I've even disconnected the battery for an hour. All that did was reset the radio stations.

Is there any way I can reset the system completely so I can get it working again? I've had a mess around with the settings and I can't seem to find anything.

Please help guys, the Sat Nav is useless like this...
    Hope you can.

    Thanks
    Dan

I've known a cheap aftermarket sat nav unit to do this, it seemed to have lost gps signal. was fine once the gps was re-acquired.

dunno..but a wild guess would possibly be the aerial reciever base unit...not bein too technically minded it may have come loose or loose wires..worth a poke round..
have the same unit in mine.. no probs..touch wood though!

I've managed to get it sorted now.

I took the SatNav system out, and disconnected the receiver aerial. Then plugged the system in for about an hour, and tried using the SatNav. Did exactly the same as before, just showing the arrow, and not the actual street I was on (normal this time as I'd unplugged the aerial)

So I took the system back out and connected the GPS aerial back in, and put the stereo back, and it works perfect again now.
It seemed to have lost the signal when it crashed. I remember when it happened. the sound went off and the screen went blank for a few seconds. Didn't think much of it at the time, and it messed the system up.

    All working fine now.

    Thanks for the advise guys
