    Eek Ouch!!!!

Coming back last nite from camarthen, just overtaking a lorry, got about 2mile from the M4 and

    Bang!!!

I felt the drivers side front go down and pull me towrds the central reservation, on came the hazzard warnings as i pulled the wheel back into the main carrigeway and gently teased my mile muncher over to the hard shoulder weaving in front of the lorry

Got out and found the drivers side front tyre flat as a flat thing thats just been run over with a huge hole in the sidewall

So got out the space saver wheel thing, jacked car up, and changed wheel, all in the dark
Got going at 50mph all the way back to worcester.....

Felt like the longest journey and could feel every corner i tookwhen pulling into the first services to check the nuts and put some more fuel into her....

Couldnr see anything on the raod and never actually saw anything on the carrigeway prior to the bang, so nit sure what made the hole

Will sort out a pic for you of the hole.

Oh yea, an its made me slightly damage the alloy as well

    Lucky you are OK.

I thought you were advised not to change the wheel on a motorway even with a jacket on.

Not being funny then, but how would you have gone about it?

To me it was the only option avaliable to me, apart from waiting on hours for the RAC to come an help, i felt i was over far enuff for me to safely change the wheel, so with my hi-vis i did.

Another question, was it actually safe to drive the 100 or so miles on the spacesaver at 50mph all the wy home?
