Default Header Tank Cap Weeping slightly !!!

My header cap on my Cdti 150 leaks a small amount of coolant which then gathers around the level lip. I have noticed that the two O-rings that seal the lower & upper parts of the cap have become flat on the edges, instead of round/oval Etc..
Car has done 87K, Is this a servicable part & do they become weak & leak ??
    Anybody else had this ??

    Cheers

I belive that there is a thing about them leaking. I would think that you can get a new cap from the dealer without any problem. It would be a good idea to replace it soon as when the cooling system is under presure the coolant will leak out even faster.

    Cheers Ed.
I have just found this whilst searching by Mr Moderator GSI3.2

first, and most likely 'easy' cause.... change the tank cap ... they are well known for becoming weak and allowing hot coolant vapour to secape, making it look like coolant loss..
i take it you have not other signs of trouble?..just the water going down?
So i'll pop & get a new cap tomorrow before it develops furher when the Hot weather arrives
