Couple of questions before I start my carputer install

Hi,

First things first.

• Car is a late 2004 (full can-bus i assume as it has wheels) Vectra 2.2 Direct

• Current OEM headunit is the CDC 40 (Opera? Don't know if thats relevant) (PIC)

In an ideal world, I would like to somehow drop the existing OEM headunit back about an inch, and install a screen in front of it. Failing that, I'm planning on taking out the whole headunit and replacing with a touch screen similar to this but not decided which exactly yet:

I haven't had the thing out yet to see if it's feasible.

The aim is to custom mould it into an aftermarket double din adapter.

Then, the pc chassis will go in the boot left pocket with the power (pic of location)

All sounds fairly simple, but I'm a little worried about a few points.

I havn't done any playing around with this car yet (havn't had it long) but my first concern is the loss of the settings button. Anyone done a workaround for this or relocated it somewhere etc?

Secondly, how can I interface with the controls on the wheel? Is there a way?

I've not worked on a can-bus car before, so it's fairly new to me
