    Default VXL What a joke......

i aproached my local vx dealer the other day about spraying my spoiler and fitting it.anyway the lady whom i spoke to was very polite and kind and gave me a price for fitting and spraying.all in inc vat £175 i thought what the hell cool thats fab i'll go with that, anyway my spoiler arrived on tues and hey ho i thought great i'll get it sorted asap.
yesterday a chap from vx rang and asked if the spoiler was genuine vx part so i said no it's not it's a irmscher copy.ok he said i don't think that we are going to be able to paint it for you mr payne.
so cut a long story short they won't touch it with a barge poll because it's a copy.
so this morning i went to a independent local body shop and asked for a quote they said yes no probs mr payne all we need is your paint code we will paint your spoiler in the week for you and fit it for you if you drop your car in saturday morning next week. how about between £130-£150 is that ok.
any how thats what happening so it will be all done for next weekend triff brill fab can't wait.

i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with vx dealers?
    cheers all the best nick.

my local stealer wanted £176 + vat for painting and fitting
managed to get the spoiler painted and fitted(helping in drilling the holes as they weren't brave enough) for £50 and its a perfect match!!

Would not even consider VX for any paint job. Much better value from a local guy - always. My mirrors sprayed + lower spoiler repaired and sprayed = £110. This week motor will be in for rear bumper and offside arch repair and spray for £120.

    Hi,

Now... i'm not one to stick up for vX, but in my youth I bought various 'universal' and 'copy' bits and bobs for my cars.

The quality/fit of these accessories was extremely variable and I can see why Vx wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. I remember some real horror stories, like my Morette headlight conversion which didn't line up with the front wings, for example.

It is more hassle than its worth for them to be frank, as they have no idea what you will be bringing in; although they could have inspected it and then made a decision, I agree. Sometimes though, the real problems are only brought to light once you are halfway through the job, by which time its too late.

Of course, for a spoiler there are only a limited amount of things which can go wrong, and there is no issue with painting it; just the fitting of it that could be a problem.

    Payney,

Which vauxhall dealer was this? Marshall's would paint it for you, but if you let me sort it I will get the £££ down.
