Zafira GSi (2l turbo) v Vectra GSi (3.2 v6)

Problem with the GSi is that they are quick up to 60mph and then stuck in 3rd gear takes along time and you find these turbos midrange a little quicker than the 3.2's. Yes after 110mph the GSi will out perform most other cars. Had the GSi been fitted with a 6 speed box that would of been a different kettle of fish.

The Zafira GSi has the same pre-VXR engine as the Astra about 200bhp IIRC. The Zafira VXR has the same engine as in the Astra VXR, and is damn quick with 240 horses.
I would have thought that the Vectra GSi would have the edge on the Zafira Gsi.

Standard 2.0T Vectra as said before on here wouldn't live with the GSi but a stage 1 remapped one would give it a run for its money.

I have had two Zafira GSi's, the first was standard and the second was 265bhp and 280lb/ft.

After also having a Vectra C GSi 3.2 for a month in between Zafira's back in 2003 (Courtesy of Vauxhall) the Zafira will walk all over the Vectra up to about 125mph, then the Vectra GSi comes on song.

But get the Zafira to about 230bhp and the Vectra has no chance to 140mph. At 250/260bhp in the Zafira the Vectra GSi may as well give up and go home.

The Vectra VXR 280 is also no match for a 250/260bhp Zafira GSi up to about 120mph.

Zafira VXR is quick, but has a lot of weight to pull, tuned to 280bhp and again it's a different story.

But standard Zafira GSi vs standard Vectra GSi 3.2, Zafira up to 125mph should not be a problem.

I dont know if it was tuned obv... So maybe had summit done to it.. Was awfully shiny... lol

My faith in the gsi has been restored tho as it whipped a focus st170 earlier hehe

What you have to ask yourself is do I want to spend a shed of dough on the car just incase I find a Zafira that wants to race in future
