    Default Phantom mud slinger.

For several days i've been getting balls of mud landing on my car..... not bird s*** but proper mud..... I was baffled until today, while outside flushing out the washer bottle (An entirely separate story of which the moral is don't keep wash and wax and screen wash in identical bottles!! ) one of these balls of mud catches me on the shoulder!!!

I was looking round for the culprit... ready to give the little oik a piece of my mind, but I couldn't see anyone!!

Acouple of minutes passed by and SPLAT, right on the roof of the car, so I looked again... nothing.

So anyway.... finished sorting the car and started cleaning the windows on the house. Soon found the culprit when I was 10 feet up a ladder doing the front windows..........

    Maaa... fetch me my gun!!!!!!

Jamie can I just warn you about house martins...

My neighbour has just been charged for removing a nest from above his patio area. Although it wasn't complete and there were no biirds or eggs in there.
Because another neiighbour saw him removing it and reported him to the local police he has now been cautioned and had to make a statement at Sleaford police HQ. He will find out in around 2 weeks time if he will just get a caution or go to court.
apparently you are breaking the law removing the nest or part of the nest between may and november.

And for anyone thinking of doing the same you might like to use this link first..

    BE WARNED!!!

On a lighter note....do you always take your camera with you when you're up a ladder cleaning windows?

I was leaning out of the window for that one!!!

I'll speak with one of my mates at work (I work for the police and he's a wildlife liaison officer, so is well qualified to advise me) about when I can take it down... probably gonna leave it now til about October time when they will be well gone. The nest is nearly finished anyway so no more mud bombs!
