If you do a lot of email then the Pearl would be nice (with the additional Blackberry tariff added), however if you don't there would be no point really.

I had the Pearl before my 8300 Curve. I'm hooked with the Blackberrys. The Curve is easier to use (as it has a full QWERTY keypad), but the Pearl is still fairly easy. The camera isn't up to much, but the MP3 player and Media player are awesome. And there's plenty of great software you can add. Check out www.handango.com to see what sort of stuff can be added to it.

If you can't get the N95 8GB, personally I wouldn't recommened the regular "old" N95, even with extra memory. Even with upgraded firmware the operation of the phone is still a bit laggy and generally isn't quite as good or responsive as the 8Gb version. I've got the 8Gb version and a friend of mine just has the regular. I tried playing around with his but got frustrated at how 'slow' some of the actions were.

I mean, they're not like Hedgehogg slow, but I found it a bit off-putting. Particularly with image taking.

But otherwise, tne N95 8GB is a class phone.

The new firmware (recently available) makes the N95 great, I use it with an 8gb card in there and don't have any problems at all.

The biggest improvement is the camera, the older firmware took a lifetime to process the image. It's almost instant with the new firmware.

This is very new about 1 month old. The problem is, a lot of users can't upgrade, especially if they are with O2 as the firmware doesn't work with O2, however, it's easy enough to unlock the N95 with software and then upgrade. As I have.

Even some other providers (T-Mobile) only allow an upgrade to a certain firmware release and not the new release, unlocking of the N95 really does make a difference.

I do like the slightly larger screen on the 8gb version though.

Ah, in that case I stand corrected. It was some time ago now that I used his phone so will be out of date with the newest firmware.
