    Default Warranty

Just read another post about servicing where the poster said he'd registered it for 2nd and 3rd years warranty, do vauxhall do this automatically, or do I need to tell them, also is there any way of doing it online or via email i.e. directly with vauxhall.

I've never had a car with a warranty before so I assumed it was just a case of stick it in any time theres a fault during the 3yrs provided my mileage isnt above 60,000 miles.

so likesay if I didnt do this registering business, and my car develops a fault that would be covered by warranty, do they check up to see if the warranty is registered or do they just say, op, Feb 05 car, this is only Feb 07 and the mileage is only 40K hes still covered by warranty we'll fix it.

When i took my car for the 1st year service the stealer said my other 2 years warranty and breakdown is now active. So maybe it comes into play after your first service.

My first service was at a non VX garage, but years 2 & 3 are being covered automaticaly, I don`t think you need to do anything, I certainly didn`t ?

Does this apply to the newer cars? I know it was the case with my old Astra Mk4 because I was given a card with 2nd and 3rd year breakdown cover when it was serviced. Not had anything of the sort with my Vectra C, I assumed that Vauxhall had caught up with the rest of the world and introduced it as standard?

I have never had any car serviced by VX and never had any problem with 2 and 3 year warranty coverage. My hand book also makes no reference to having to do anything to continue the warranty into year 2 or 3.

If you did, I would suggest that you contact your Vx Dealer and confirm that they registered them on your behalf. There are countless threads relating to this, why not try reading them, or better still, call a Dealer who can confirm it for you?!

The Warranty does NOT carry on automatically after year one. End of debate.
Come on, less of the attitude please. It is not 'end of debate' All my cars are serviced by my dealer and yes I have never signed a thing to carry on the warranty. And I have also had warranty work on the cars.

The Zafira is out of warranty in March 2006 and the head gasket was done in December 2005.

I am not saying what is right or wrong, the fact is I have never filled in anything or signed anything to do with the continuation of warranty and I have never had any problems. Yes of course the dealer must have done it on my behalf butI have not done anything about it.

My New Vectra is due in April and I expect everything will be the same.

I never had to sign anything at my cars first birthday.... and my Vx warranty is still intact (In fact I just picked up the new breakdown card from the dealer when my car just had its 2nd annual service and didn't have to sign for it)
