    Default ferry help

guys i want to get the car over to england for a wedding in july from the 11th to the 15th. but i need to leave on the 11th about 5 or after and dont mind how late on the tuesday. the later the better tbh. thing is i checked and over £200 for the car and 2 passangers!!! and i thought ferry companies wanted to get you on the boat!! reason is we want the car so to do a bit of sight seeing after the wedding otherwise we would have to fly and rent a car tho i dont think that is a goer as ill still be 24 in july and so will the gf. any ppl any ideas or any ideas how to lower costs for ferry?

Go for a stupid time of the night boat, the ones no one wants!

They give those away for peanuts!

I'm not sure how didferent the rental companies are for America and England. But having just turned 21 (literally on my birthday) and renting a car in AMerica, I thought the prices would be astronomical, but the surchage for being under 25 per day was very cheap and competetive.

I think for ease it would be best to look into flying and getting a rental. Or even getting a ferry (sans car) then renting. Like I say, no idea on the prices, but that would seem like the most cost-effective route.

Is the price for the car on the boat inclusive of 4 pssenger's, or do you pay an excess for each indiviual passenger??

Although the car hire is for 4 days, it might be cheaper upgrading it to a 5 days or an entire week
It doesn't matter how many passengers there are, so long as you have the right type of vehicle for the number of passengers!
You will pay the same rate whether there is a driver only, or a driver and up to 8 passengers
You will only pay extra if there is more than one designated (insured) driver
Some extras are also worth including, like CDW
Check the mileage, make sure there is no limit, and the fuel arrangments, the best are fill-to-fill

yea the car and two ppl is about £216 on the ferry and car hire if i flew over looks about £100 for the 4 days plus airfare each so maybe car will be the cheaper option on the ferry.
