Default Redex not to good for my car

Stupid me a couple of months back bought some redex, now i wasn't sure if the neck of the bottle would reach down and open the flap to my fuel so i decided to give it a trial run without taking the cap off the redex bottle. It reaches alright, but imagine my suprise when the bottle came out minus the cap. For 2 months when i've put diesel in, due to the cap being lodged in the pipe the petrol pump thinks my tanks full and the handle clicks, it takes me 15 mins to put £10 fuel in, what a knightmare, i had to go at night when it was quiet as it was embarassing. Anwway just had sorted for £25 and i'm now expecting it to take 4 secs to put £10 of fuel in.................

At least it didn't go all the way down into the tank! Glad you got it sorted.

When I bought my Vectra B it took ages to fill the tank, I mentioned it to the dealer I bought it off and asked if I could have a look at the filler neck on another Vectra. Then I found out why mine took so long to fill, it was because the black plastic flap at the top of the filler neck was missing on mine, it had been pushed down inside the filler neck. Rhey replaced it all under warrenty.

Sorry - but you why would the petrol pump think your tank was full if you were putting in diesel?
Just messing, did you put the redex in - and did it make a differance to your diesel. I used it for my 2.2 Petrol Direct - injector one - and I 'think' it made a differance - did'nt do any worse anyway.

I used the redex on another car and it made a real difference, but the way i look at it now is it can't do any harm (unless you lose the cap) and can only help so i stick a bit in every now and again.....
