Rattle!!

Hi all.
My first post, so hope you can help.
First issue. My Vectra has developed an annoying rattle coming from the bulkhead area forward. It sounds very metallic and almost as if a "ping pong" ball is being tapped against the exhaust. It's clearly a very loose part as even when stationary and it's windy, it rattles. My first thought was the heatshield around the exhaust, but after getting underneath to have a look, it appears to be fine.
Secondly, there is break squeal heard after the brakes have been released and I am accelerating away. This disappears after a short acceleration but returns once again when the brake pedal is subsequently released once again after braking. Any thoughts would be welcome.

Could be the disc protection shield,it sometime's get knocked when changing disc's or a stone hitting it,check them out and let us know how you get on.......

I had a very similar tinny rattle from the same area, after a lot of poking about, i found that the flexible gauze part of the exhaust ( between the down pipe and the middle section ) rattled and buzzed at various rpm's, i got rid of it by putting a jubilee clip around it !
