Just replaced my 52 plate 1.8 today with an 05 plate 1.9 CDTI SRI 120. After picking the car up there was a fairly strong diesel smell coming in through the vents while driving. I didn't notice this when I test drove it. I've noticed on some other threads that there are issues with injector seals, exhaust manifolds, cat etc. Now, I'm no mechanic but surely if there was a problem with any of these then I would have though that the emissions light would be on? I'm going to ring the garage (not main dealer) in the morning to see what they say.
The car is 2 months out of it's Vauxhall warranty and only has 39k on the clock.
How dangerous is this? Surely if there is a fuel leak of some sorts it shouldn't have passed it's MOT earlier this week?
