Well after all the trials and tribulations of the past few days, Junior finally made his appearance today!!
We're now the proud parents of a little boy, born at 4:25pm weighing 6lb 11oz. To say I'm chuffed to bits would be an understatement!
The obligatory pic as I'm sure people would be asking if there wasn't one! lol
He's been as good as gold so far, no crying or anything. Not from being born at 4:25 to when I left the hospital at 10pm after Jane was back on the ward. He fed soon after he was born and slept for a bit, then fed again just before I left.
Yours truly had the 'pleasure' of changing his first nappy. Man, I had been warned about the first poo (meconium) being a bit thick and black, but this stuff was like tar! lol At least it didn't smell that I could tell. Even though it took me a couple of goes to fully sort out the nappy, he didn't cry, complain at all - superb! lol
His name is not fully decided. There are two names that we are both still torn over i.e. neither of us can decide, as opposed to it being one wanting one and one the other. So we'll have to sort that out soon and I'll update.
So, Jane's in hospital overnight and I'll be back tomorrow to see them both and see if they'll be coming home tomorrow. She's exhausted, and somewhat tender - especially as she had to have some stitches but at least she didn't have to have the final step of a C-section and gave birth naturally.
I'm sooooo proud of her - she really went through the mill since Wednesday and finally it's all come to fruition.
EDIT: We decided on his name today, and it was what we'd both been leaning towards as the favourite - say hello to Cameron!
