nokia n95 8gb

now then, i have a nokia n95 8gb and am having real problems installing garmin xt onto the phone , or any other third party sat nav ! i can install all of the sat nav , but garmin will not recognise the phone as a gps reciever ? any help would be greatly appreciated , pm's welcome thanks

If you use a third party nav software,you'll have to use a bluetooth nav receiver. The internal Nokia receiver will only work with Nokia Maps....

1. unzip the download and install the file called garmin onto your memory card.

2. Disconnect phone from pc then navigate to the garmin folder and run the garminxt.sis this will install the aplication.

3. when installed goto aplications folder and start garminxt.

4. open settings open about about

3. Make note of your "Card ID"

4. Launch the keygen, and enter the "Card ID" you see on GMXT About page.

5. hit generate code

5. Copy (CTRL+C) the Device unlock key to clipboard.

6. Now open Notepad and paste (CTRL+V) the key and save the file as SW.UNL

9. Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin directory and restart GMXT.

8. Program should now recognize your built-in GPS (if not go to settings\system and choose "connected gps") and you should be
able to use detailed maps.

Not true! internal gps working on mine with garmin

Works on mine too.

If you google sat nav on n95 you can find a number of free access forunms with info about this application on an N95

I have Garmin XT installed on my N95 aswell and it uses the internal GPS, you just need the correct version number, Garmin released an update to work with the internal gps.. I also have other gps software installed on it that uses the internal gps, The other programs are:- Amaze, GSM Trckr, GSM Navigator, AFtrack & MGMaps... route66 also works with the internal gps aswell... i've had to look into gps on the N95 for work as they wanted to be able to track our engineers...
