You don't need pins 7 and 15, that's the K and L lines that were used by the older protocols. Vectra C's use CAN Bus, think it's pins 6 and 14 for HSCAN.

Is this the case for a Vectra C of 2002 too? I have an ELM327 (scantools) here, but I don't seem to be able to get this thing going. From the laptop to the interface everything works, but it does not seem to be able to figure out the protocol used. What OBD standard does Vectra C 2002 offer?

    TIA,
    Hans

All Vectra C's are CAN bus. Petrol models are OBDII compliant from 2002, but some diesels are from 2004 onwards, and that might be why you are having problems.

    Hi shunter,

Thanks for your help. So I my 2002 diesel is probably just OBD-I compliant. Is there any way to put an ELM327 reader into ODB-I mode?

    Regards,
    Hans

The ELM 1.2a is Canbus complient and I'll be getting one soon along with a right angle cable..... it also works with Centrafuse which will display the fault code & allow a reset too...

Watch my web site because I'm in the final stages of my build which is why I have not been on here for ages.

Terran, will this cable allow you to close the ashtray lid?
