    Smile Oil for CDTi.??

    Hi All,

    Im a little confused... i have a 2007 1.9 SRi CDTi estate.

i would like to know, what type of oil my motor needs, i see that its diesel 5w30 full syn, what brand do you guys reccomend?... shell ultra etc...

simply as im new to this game after having a company motor for years, not giving a care to oil, ive got out of that game and into my own car.

So, ive seen on other threads that members have offered links even, to VX website, what its uses its uses, i want to use the best but using common sense and as this site uses both! cant go wrong.

What do you suggest? thanks in advance...

Yes its very confusing. Given that your car is a 2007 model and still under warranty and its has the wonderful DPF. I would recommend VX own oil. I have seen posts on here that say it has a low sulphur count thus being DPF friendly.

Not sure but a call to the dealer will confirm it. I would imagine they are different.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Cheers, guys, for your helps, assuming that i use vx oil as stated,
VX have stated, that its £13 a litre and 5w/30 for three years, then 10w/40 after 3years from then on. They also state the 5w/30 is universal.

    thanks for the advise...

So they put the good oil in until warranty goes, then use crap? Typical money grabbing dealers.

I did ring VX as advised, but i was really after what 'we' the VX user and comminuty use, that was VX advised me over the phone, its not the cost of the oil i suppose, but its what tried and tested.
Does anyone else agree, or were VX telling me porkies...?
I dont agree with it myself... but i will be sticking with the full syn oil.. as long as i own it.!!! something to note.
