How much meat in brakes?

The brake meat warning sign is on now and I took a peek without removing the front tires and seem to have 1/8 of an inch on the right side and something like half an inch on the left.
Is this a fault in the sensor? How thin are pads when the sensor triggers?.

There is now only one sensor and I believe it is on the offside
However, if your break pad wear is as you suggest then there may be a sticking piston that requires attention
I can take my brakes right down to indicator and both are pretty much equally worn

the sensor comes on when there is about 3mm ( just under an 1/8" ) left on the pads...
if the sensor has tripped then it'll need replacing as well..

Where do you get a replacment sensor from?

Not sure if you can get it from anywhere else but I got mine from the dealers at a wopping 10 quid.

Thanks for the advice mate...I`ll check exactly how much meat by taking off the tyres and have a better look.

Thanks Mark...I think its time for new pads, and yeah a new sensor...anyway as far as I know they usually brake when replacing the pads so...

you can get the sensor wire from the stealers they cost around £20 rip off mate
