After swithcing off the ignition and removing the key, switch the indicator switch either up for right or down for left side light, which ever one you want to come on!

Yes, until you either turn the lights on and off or put the key in the ignition.

Should bleep twice to tell you it has turned a light on, and once to turn it off again, should also illuminate the indicator light on the dash for whichever side you have turned on.

Thats better than my corsa, which used to do this automatically if you left the indicator on when you turned the engine off, which i used to do a lot.

suj786, it is a safety thing too help other road users see your car in the dead of night. Obviously you do it with the road side lights. Mercedes etc, have had this feature for years

I use it at my parents in laws place at night if I park in the street. One night one of their neighbours came knocking on the front door to let me know I had left the lights on & that the kerb side lights were bustard. When I told the neighbour about the feature she said Aussie made cars don't do that. Well, I said that is one reason why I don't drive an Aussie made car

The law says that if you park your car on a road with a speed limit above 30mph you must leave your side/parking lights on at night, that is the reason for having side lights, let's face it they're rubbish for anything else!
