    Engine : 150 cdti

    Year : 55

    Mileage : 108000

    Default paint the original sills

    as above if i was to get these professionally done what would they look like as the plastic has a sort of (orange peel texture) so to speak...has anyone had them done and do they look good,also to paint these and the irmy irs spoiler i have been quoted £175 is this a good price! cheers guys

    the only way to get rid of ' the orange peel' is to rub them with scoth brite pads to key the surface, then spray them with plastic primer then high build primer, rub that down then apply some more and again and again then the orange peel should be as smooth as a baby's ar$e. bodyshop will probably charge more for doing it but the effects are tons better. HTH

    I got quoted £300 to do both side sills rear trim and paint and fit front lower spoiler (irmy replica)

    andy, this months TVX has a bit about diy plastic part spraying have a look and get it sorted mate.

    stunning car m8 a saloon like mine they seem pretty rare. Were the skirts smoothed before they were painted or sprayed just as they were..thanks

    i painted mine ...took them off the car which is quite easy gave them a good rub down tis hard work to get rid of the orange peel affect but ive done it and im more than happy with the finish

    Thanks, not many of us saloon owners about
    Not sure about them being smoothed, I left them for the body shop to sort.
    I'll try & get a close up picture later & see how the surface is.

    I had mine done and not orange peely at all. £175 seems fair to me.
