    Smile Induction kit or not?????

I currently have the air box mod done with a standard filter in, i am attempting to fit a tuning box tomorrow to my 2.0dti to give it a bit more ooomph, so what are the pro's and con's of getting a K+N element to go in the original box over a full K+N induction kit??? Your thoughts are welcomed

i've got the 57i and dtuk tuning box on my cdti 150. the airfilter on its own before the box went on was fine, sounds fantastic. but once the box went on i got a spanner light when starting the car, goes straight out once car has started. had the code read and cleared but comes straight back on when you drive it. fault was air massflow sensor passing to much air which leans out fuel.

I've had this before myself, doesn't put the car into limp mode or noticabley effect performance. It will probably come on around the 4000+rpm mark and go off again when you drop under. I'd say not to worry about it, just make sure you've got a cold air feed to provide all that air you're using

If you do want to stop it complaining, you could do what I did by using a larger bore MAF sensor. As a result you get the same mass of air flowing down the larger bore at a lower speed. This allows more air to get in but the ECU doesn't see as much of it because the MAF sensor is calibrated for a smaller bore.
