I'd go for something with a HDD myself. Are you only looking for SD?

I'm about to buy one myself but want something that does High Def..can't decide between the Sony SR10E and the Canon HG10 at the moment.

This site is quite handy.. http://www.camcorderinfo.com/

If i had 350 to spend on a camcorder it has to be this one

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...Camcorders.htm

only cause of its internal HDD plus DVD recorder, is ideal, without having to mess about on transerffing the files to DVD.

Help me out on this one, i'm not really up on electronic gadgets.
    What's HDD ? Is that a hard drive ?
I don't want to have to be carrying discs around and run out of space at an important time. prefere to record and not worry about anything.

HDD is Hard Drive and the bigger the better but you got to make sure you transfer files over now and again otherwise the HDD would get full,

    two choices

    HDD and DVD or
    HDD and SD Slot

I prefer the first at the DVD can go straight into a DVD player, whereas the SD slot will have to go into your pc first then into dvd, however the DVD and HDD are that little bit bigger then the SD slot ones

a 40gb hard drive would get you approx 5 hours worth of HD (high def) recording.. so if you're going for SD (standard def) you'd probably get a lot more than that "30GB HDD for up to 37 hours recording.." Plenty of space there.
