i have posted the cleaning method with pics twice before so do a search if you need that or pm me.
oh and you never saw this from me!!!!!!!!!!! NOTE THE NEW VALVE MENTION?
Z19DT/DTH Engine – EGR Valve Trouble Code P0400(5A)
Affected Vehicles:
All with Z9DT/DTH engine
Symptom:
Reduced engine performance and/or DTC P0400(5A)
EGR-valve stuck, other DTC's and symptoms can also be present.
Root Cause:
EGR valve stuck open or closed because of soot contamination and/or corrosion.
Solution:
New EGR valves (PTFE sealing and modified spring) are in release process.
At present there are EGR valves on backorder at P&A, therefore as an interim solution, clean the
EGR valve as described.
- Remove the EGR valve; separate the unit, electrical and valve.
Note:
Mark units for correct assembly.
- Use a commercially available air intake system/throttle body cleaner to remove soot
from the valve i.e. Forte Air Intake Cleaner
- Use a drill to rotate the valve (see picture).
- Spray and clean with rotation and axial movement.
- Check and ensure that the valve is moving freely.
- Check the electrical unit; connect it to wiring harness and activate with Tech2.
- Assemble the two units; check the valve - EGR FLOW with Tech2.
Note:
the valve can be open for approx 1 minute at idle after starting.
Perform Tech2 EGR Actuator test:
The following values are OK (cold-warm)
Air flow falls from ~35-50Kg/h to ~12-18kg/h, swirl flaps start operating (Z19DTH)
