She's Pakistani, and has been here on a spouse visa because I am british and work here in Preston. But that visa was only valid for 2 years then you got to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain, then when she gets that then 5 years later she can apply for Citizenship, which if was we want.

Best of luck!! We did it last year although we went upto Croydon to get the Visa same day service (couldn't stand to sit and wait at home for them to make the decision).

I think most people think the immigration process is dead easy but if you try and do it all legally, its extremely time consuming, stressful and gets more expensive each year.

Ummmm iirc, cos you are married should be able to apply for British Citizenship three years after she arrived in the UK - so two years on the spouse/marriage visa and one year after she gets the Indefinate Leave to remain.

We are going to go through the Citizenship process in July purely because its such a pain in the a55 getting a VISA everytime we go abroad i.e we had to spend two last year days getting a VISA for a four day trip to Germany.
