I nearly bought a 156 a while ago. Looked great with a subtle bodykit and 18" alloys. I put a £100 deposit down, but then decided on a VW Passat (that's another story).

I rang up the dealer to let him know (accepting I'd lose the £100) and was subjected to torrent of four-letter abuse by the finance manager. It was so ridiculous, I burst out laughing.

The dealers aren't known as being customer friendly.

It's certainly a good looking car but, the new Ferrari 599gt* is just about the sexiest motor on the planet at the moment.

Probably got something to do with the fact that they are always breaking down.

That's the main reason 99% of Alfa's are beautiful, they have to be so they still look good when stationary (which is most of the time)

That's only a concept car. They have put it in production, but it looks a lot more pedestrian than that one. Doesn't have the Maserati V8 in it, either!

This one isn't bad looking, but nothing like the one above.

I had 156 with the sport pack 2 , it was lovely car to drive but cost me a fortune towards the end , timing belt went which was the last straw, cost me 1.5k to fix on top of wiper motors x 2 , lambda sensor x 2 electric window motor, 2 x back boxes and 9 count em 9 - bulbs for the front lights!!???!!!! all over 2 years and less than 20k miles (50k when i sold it, or should i say gave it away DEPRECIATION NIGHTMARE!!) oh and the radiator was well on its way out would have needed replaced within a year.

the brera was on top gear awhile back (after the concept) specs of the factory car were shockingly slow but it does look quite nice.

Anyway saw the error of my ways and now loving my veccy !.

I've always liked Alfas and it was a toss-up between a Vx Signum and a Alfa 166 2.5V6 Lusso. The extra space of the Sig won in the end but a great 2nd buy the 166 is.
Alfas are good and I can't understand why people don't buy them but then people are fickle. Alfa 146 or a BMW 1 series, ummmmm
