confused can somebody help me with this please??

    Vectra 2.0DTI CLUB 2003

i have posted before about this, but i think its something else now.
I have the spanner light on all the time and keeps going in to limp mode
so much it drives me crazy now.

I was told to clean the boost senser and look at the vacumn hoses which i have done and all seem fine also i have cleaned the MAF. but upon looking around i found what looks like oil around the bay and under a hose. also there is some under the bonnet, i have cleand most of this one, but it seems there is abit of play in the hose and it seems not to fit very well, the clips also look tatty and dont fasen up very much. I have taken some pics of what i mean. could somebody take a look please and tell me if the hose could be making the car go in to limp mode and looseing its power. also when you put your foot down it makes a whistling noise which is lound and seems to be coming of the same hose.

The car is forsale as im getting an SRI so i really need to sort it asap. if it
is the hose where would i get a new one from??

since having the car, just over a year i have spent £1400 on it as it keeps needing something all the time, so this time i want a cheap fix, if somebody could help me out with this, you'd make me a happy lad.

    ta and thanks,
    Jay

It sounds to me as though it's loosing boost air from the turbo out of this poorly fitting black hose - this would explain the loss of power and whistling noise.
I dont think its that unusual for a turbo to use a little bit of oil, so that could be the splatter on the underside of the bonnet - coming out as the air is leaking.
I'm sure you would be able to get a bit of the black hose like what is leaking from a motor factors, along with some new Jubilee Clips that secure it.
At the end of the day it will cost you no more than a few quid to try that...

It definately looks like the boost pressure hose is leaking. Get a new piece of hose and two clips to replace the knackered ones, but before you do check to see if there is any play on the turbo fin shaft, "not sure of its proper name" its the tiny fan blade assembly that forces the air from the turbo into the engine. There should only be a minimal amount of play but if there is a lot this could explain the oil leakage you can see under the bonnet. You may have to remove the air pipe from the airbox to do this but iw would give you piece of mind.
    Hope this helps
    Ian
