Default new fix for steamed up fog lights

    Hi All,

My passenger side fog light kept steaming up, so after telling the stealers and Vauxhall that Iím not happy about this as I have done the 20 minute test and all is well until the next day and it happens again.

I told them that this is not acceptable to keep putting my fog lights on for 20 minutes a day just to clear them.

The stealers phoned me today to say there is a new fix out and itís called a snorkel which is a part they attach to the back of the fog light so it can breathe.
Now all I have to do is wait for the parts to come in result.

If youíre not aware of this fix and your fog lights keep steaming up get on to the stealers and ask for it.
So no more wasting 20 minutes fuel to clear your fogs as I am not one of these numpties that drive with their fog lights on in the day time or night come to think of it unless it is foggy

Is this Pre-Facelifts too? Mine do the same, thinking about it, so did my other Pre-Facelift too!

Mine does it as well, even after Vauxhall changed the unit for a new one.

Vauxhall lights on general are rubbish for steaming up. I've had two veccys and an Astra and they've all had various problems with moisture in various lights. My brand new one has moisture in th fog lights, front right (as you face it) headlamp and rear boot brake light. Rubbish!

    How about a "free" fix...
On the SRI bumper the under tray is in three parts, each fog lamp is protected by one of these parts
Undo the clips and remove the associated small tray

The fog lamp is protected by the this tray so this fix can actually be performed without removing it, but I recommend removing the fog lamp
Disconnect the wiring, unclip, and pull from the bumper
Remembering which side of the fog lamp housing is the top, drill a 10mm hole into the top
(If you did not remove the fog lamp, then drill the hole into the bottom, this is OK as the fog lamp is protect from any water by the tray)

    Reassemble
    Job done!

If you have the same problem with your headlights, then simply remove the rubber cover, leave for about 12 hours overnight
    Replace the rubber cover
    Job done!

It's always the simple things in life that work best
