Default Have i got heated seats ?

Rewiring my head unit tonight i dropped a lead, when ilooked under the seat to find it i saw , a loom/wires connected to all the bottom of the seat/big resister thing. Does this mean i have heated seats and there just not connected ? If so do i just need a switch/fuse ? We established at sundays meet that i have got a lot of things that should not be standard, especially fully adjustable seats and arm rest. Will try and get some photos tomorrow.

You probably just have the wiring loom installed, common practice on earlier models so they just used one loom - dropped on later models to looms for specific options fitted.

All you'll need is the switches and to fit the heated pads to the seats. Look at Leeds Vectra's How 2 on it. Do check that you definitely have the loom in place for the heated seats though.

Pic of the connector would certainly help to confirm if it's the heated seat plug.

You are looking for these five wires in the same bank within the seat harness plug if you want heated seats. Doubt you have them though.

Wouldn't the plugs be there on a 2002 model Paul? I thought it was later/facelift models the looms become more specific?

As far as I'm aware Duncan the seat harnesses have never carried the heated seat wires unless specified from new. I did this mod to my 03 plate which had to be re-harnessed just as my 06 plate has.

Early models always carried the relevant floor loom even basic spec cars, when the facelift came along more relevant floor looms appeared and in some cases the heated seat wires disappeared from them. Maverick reported that his 2005 sri didn't have the floor loom for heated seats yet my 2006 one has.

So to sum up, you have a good chance of having the correct wires in the floor loom, but not any chance of having a heated seat harness if you haven't got them from new.
