Exclamation CD70 Navi locked in Upgrade mode

As a new member , I would like some help with the problem with my CD70 Navi system. It was supplied with my 2006 Vactra from new. Regardless of the ignition, the display is illuminated and reads 'Update software, do not switch ignition on or off' . I purchased an original Upgrade CD from eBay and inserted the CD with the engine running. After 25 minutes, the display progress remained at 0%. I returned the vehicle to my VX dealer who informed the warrany is void by using the Upgrade CD! Could somebody please advise me where I could get the unit repaired, as the unit is now disconnected from the vehicle to prevent draining the battery.
    All replies welcome.

Go to another dealer and tell them your radio is $%£&ed!!! Don't mention anything about an upgrade cd and see what they say

Thank you both for your quick and helpful advice! I decided to remove the CD70 unit, then the update CD (This was very tricky as the mechanism had 'locked' the disc inplace), then connected the system back up. After the resuming 'Software Update' message appeared, I re-inserted the update CD and it began increasing the % of completion! Wow! that was a big weight off my mind! The system works perfectly, just as before (I can't tell any difference though!?). I don't think I will bother with any Update CD's in future!
Basically I interrupted the install and it seemed to resume perfectly (Regardless of the message!)
Hope the information provided here is of some help to somebody!
The forum is great guys, you're all very supportive - Thanks!

I have the same issue at the moment. Had it going for 35mins stuck on Updating. Not even a progress bar.

Does not seem to be doing anything but I cant turn the unit off, or eject the CD. Nothing much seems to be happening and now I am scared of turning on the ignition.

I have even locked the car door now the screen still shows updating. Any ideas

As to said above...it is quite common for ebay sourced discs to do a wobbler.
Although it says don't turn on / off etc...just do it or else you'll just eventually flatten your battery...if your update is still showing 0% then no reading / writing has started yet...so as such no harm should result.
If necessary undo the quadlock connector at the rear of the radio.

The radio's will handle most things...if they fail it's usually due to weak / worn mechanisms....not software issues.

all fixed now. My god the last 2 days have been the worst of my life.
I ejected the disc by taking off the bottom panel (does not involve taking off screws), and stopped the disc with my finger. Once it did not read I could eject the disk.

I re-burned the original ROM on a CD-RW and after a couple of fialed restarts the software started updating!

Now all working fine. Thank God!

It is not the standard navigation disc that contains the map info.

The one being referred to updates the CD70 software with features that *may* not have previously on there.
