    Default Tesco car wash

You know the score - park at Tesco's, chimp comes over and asks "Car wash?". Now I was in my Rover 800 Turbo Coupe which I cherish more than my GSi and I politely declined his offer ( as I always do). I've spent too many hours on the paintwork to let anyone else loose on it.

Anyway, came out of Tesco an hour later (can you see where this is going?) and am totally dumbstruck to see this geezer washing the Rover.

We had polite words (he thought I had said "wash it") but it was when he dropped his imitation chamois and picked it up to do the boot lid that I lost it.

The long and the short of it is that I didn't pay for the wash with grit, he'll give me a free wash next time and I've got a once pristine car now covered in swirl marks and streaks from the washing up liquid they used.

At the nearby ASDA, if you want the car washed, you go to them in a corner of the car park so you don't get all this hassle.

I've just spent the last 5 hours rejuvinating the Rover but it still ain't right.

Have had a couple of drinks so it's time for a phone call to Tesco. I know it's not their fault but why let these sharks trade on their site?

Sorry for the rant but glad I could vent my anger.

I was in the 'Sava Centre' Reading yesterday & saw something so similar it could have been a replay as a ‘wash while you shop’ person performed’ Two guys walked past my car looked it looked back at the wash man & smiled. I said ‘I know what you are thinking’ we all just laughed it would make you cry for a month ...................

Reminds me of when my ex let her 8 yr old son and his friends wash her car despite my protests, it wasn't until I pointed out they were using kitchen scouring pads on the drivers door that she actually bothered to check on them.

It was a right mess, but she didnt even give them a telling off... Instead I got it in the neck for the next week or so because she could tell I was thinking "I told you so".

Moral of that story, never let kids wash your car!

Only one person washes my cars..... Me!!

If you were parked in the TESCO car park, then return to the store Customer Services without discussing the matter with the person cleaning your car
If they have permission to clean cars then they should be in a designated area
Equally the water authorities need to know and as far as I am aware TESCO now only permit car wash where water recycling is in use by external contractors
