Default Life and Exclusiv model prices

Does anybody know why the life model is more expensive than the exclusiv? The life is supposed to be the basic model and has a lower trim level in comparison.

    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : SRI NAV XP

    Engine : 1.9 CDTI 150

    Year : 2007

    Mileage : 72K

    Default

    Marketing, mate.

With the facelift VX brought out the value 'Exclusiv' model from the outset, rather than a raft of extra value base models (with 'add-ons' such as darkened lights, SRi rear light cluster, sports bumpers, front kick plates, uprated alloys, auto wipers/anti-dazzle mirror/indirect night lighting), like they had on the pre-facelift such as 'Active', 'Breeze' and 'Energy'.

Exclusiv has a wider engine range than the previous extra value models which were limited to 1.8 petrol and 16v diesels. And there is also a Signum Exclusiv with 18" wheels and sports suspension as standard.

I am under the impression that the Exclusiv's have been produced in much higher volumes (at least on the Vectra) than any of the specials were, to generate more sales.
